Behavioral Aide

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Supporting the facility’s philosophy of care and striving to achieve its goals and objectives.
• Greeting new residents to the facility and orienting them to the building and staff.
• Making regular rounds during scheduled shifts to ensure the safety of residents and staff.
• Aiding residents going to workshops and special community outings with arrival and departure, ensuring proper hygiene, medications, and clothing.
• Staying current on facility policies and procedures on behavioral emergencies and being trained in crisis management and diffusing a potentially volatile situation, especially concerning aggressive/agitated behavior.
• Maintaining knowledge of current goals/objectives that each resident is working on and encouraging the resident to do so.
• Performing other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

• To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
• Must possess, at minimum, a high school diploma.
