Responsibilities
- Works under supervision to provide direct therapy to a team of 4-6 clients following client treatment plans ensuring goals and objectives are being met.
- Documents therapy services accurately and timely (e.g., daily treatment notes, data collection, reporting parent and Partners In Excellence communications and client information).
- Ability to read written treatment directions, collect numeric data, and write progress notes.
- Redirects, intervenes, observes, and monitors client behaviors.
- Completes the required technical training and participates in ongoing training opportunities.
- Problem solves and makes appropriate decisions.
- Possesses the interpersonal skills to be playful, enthusiastic, and bring a high level of energy into the therapeutic situation.
- Works with a team and accepts corrective feedback, complying with supervisory direction.
- Communicates daily progress and client concerns to the appropriate staff members.
- Organizes and cleans clients’ space and equipment.
- Aids in keeping the facility safe, organized, sanitary, and guides others to do the same.
- Aids clients with personal care including dressing, toileting, personal hygiene, food, nutrition, and diet needs.
- Attends and participates in meetings.
- Reports all safety concerns to the Center Manager or their direct supervisor.
Qualifications
- High School diploma.
- At least 18 years of age.
- Successfully passed an initial and subsequent background checks (no history of felonies, substantiated client maltreatment or vulnerable adult incidents, or disqualifying misdemeanors).
- Previous behavioral therapy experience preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred.
- Knowledge of teaching procedures associated with Verbal Behavior Therapy.
- General knowledge of typical and special needs clients.
