Behavior Technician - Shine Community Services - Monroe County

Chileda · Sparta, WI · 4 wk ago
HealthcarePart-time

Position Overview

Our innovative program focuses on providing support to children in-home, in the community, at the Chileda Shine center, or in school. You'll work directly with kids, teaching essential life skills, activities of daily living (ADLs), social interactions, and communication strategies. As you implement individualized Behavior Support Plans (BSP), you'll play a crucial part in addressing problem behaviors and fostering skill acquisition tailored to each child's unique needs.

What a Typical Shift Looks Like

- You arrive at the Shine center and, if needed, use a Chileda van to pick up the client from their home. - During transport, you build rapport by talking with the client or playing preferred music. - At Shine, you support the client with dropping off belongings, reviewing their visual schedule, and transitioning into the first activity. - Throughout the session, you collect real-time behavior data using a phone or Shine iPad. - Clients participate in a combination of group activities and individual skill development, such as daily living skills or AAC use. Activities rotate approximately every 30 minutes and may include community outings. - After the 3.5-hour session, you transport the client home if needed and return the Shine van. You finish the shift by completing session notes and debriefing with fellow Behavior Technicians. - Every day is structured—but never boring—and you'll leave knowing you made an impact.
