About the role
The Behavioral Health Technician assists counselors, therapeutic, and nursing staff by providing clinical support to adults and children receiving substance abuse, mental health services, or co-occurring disorders in residential programs, inpatient settings, day/evening programs, outpatient programs, and/or community-based programs.
Responsibilities
- Establish a positive helping relationship with people receiving services.
- Assist individuals in completing activities of daily living, accessing needed resources, and building functional, pro-social relationships.
- Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of those receiving services.
- Implement specific interventions according to the person’s treatment or service plan.
- Monitor and document the person’s progress.
- Provide individualized, integrated mental health, substance abuse, and co-occurring services to meet the needs of individuals served and their families, as required.
- Work other behavioral health programs as needed.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- One (1) year of experience working in a behavioral health setting is preferred.
- Must be able to obtain provided CPR certification.
- Must be able to pass provided CPI training.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Must pass organization screening requirements, including state or federal background screenings as appropriate.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license from the state in which you reside, a good driving record, and be insurable under the corporate policy.

Pay
Base pay ranges from $15.00 - $16.12 an hour based on experience. Shift differential pays $2.00 - $4.00 an hour if applicable.
Level II background screening is required. Drug testing required. Florida Agency for Health Care Administration
