Behavior Support Specialist - Brandywine School

About the role

As a Behavior Support Specialist at Devereux PA Children's Services, you will work with Brandywine School students who exhibit frequent challenging behaviors in a school setting on the main campus in West Chester, PA. The role provides behavior management support, implements interventions designed by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), transfers skills to students’ natural supports in the least restrictive environment, and assists teachers in managing classroom behaviors. The environment is supportive, educational, and clinically focused, offering opportunities to increase knowledge and improve skills in behavior intervention, functional assessment, and collaborative teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Provide behavior management support to individuals in a school setting.
• Carry out specific interventions developed by the Behavior Analyst (BCBA).
• Transfer skills to individuals’ natural support in the least restrictive environment.
• Support teachers in managing student behaviors in the classroom.

Requirements

Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification or RBT‑eligible is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a human service field preferred.
• At least 1 year of work experience with children or adolescents with behavior challenges preferred.

Pay

$25.00 – $28.50 per hour (based on experience)

Schedule

Monday‑Friday, 8 am – 4 pm; 52‑week year‑round position.
