Behavior Support Specialist, Behavior Day Services

Responsibilities

• Implement participant services and training based on functional behavioral assessments and Individual Service Plans.
• Provide opportunities for participants to develop socialization/interpersonal communication skills and practice self-regulation/coping techniques.
• Assist individuals with aspects of daily living, including but not limited to: feeding, toileting, and dressing in compliance with hygiene curriculum.
• Provide hands-on training, observation, and evaluation of the participant's pre-vocational skills and find educational opportunities or classes to assist them in further development.
• Use a digital client service platform to accurately record all data, progress notes, session comments, concerns, and action plans for each session/unit of service.

Requirements

• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with individuals with disabilities, their family members, employers, and others in a positive and constructive manner.
• Understanding of behavior modification and de-escalation techniques.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Must be able to meet Community Care Licensing requirements to pass a Department of Justice criminal background clearance.
• Valid California Driver’s License and reliable transportation.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities and working in a behavior management program.
• CPI Certified.
• CPR/First Aid Certified.
• Fluency in Spanish.
• ASL knowledge.

Pay

$20.00 - $21.00 /hour (dependent upon prior experience and qualifications).

Schedule

Full-time (33-35hrs), Monday to Friday (8:00/8:30 a.m. - 3:30/4:00 p.m.)
