At Devereux Texas, we provide residential services to Individuals living with Autism and/or Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities. Responsibilities

  • Provide therapeutic support to individuals with behavioral issues
  • Help children overcome challenges in learning, problem solving, impulse control, judgement, communication, social interaction, and adaptive functioning (activities of daily living)
  • Work with individuals who vary in their abilities, including those who are non-speaking and have limited interactions and responses to others
  • Change diapers and pull ups for individuals who are not toilet trained
  • Address challenging behaviors including hitting, biting, kicking, scratching, and pinching
  • Help children manage their emotions
  • Work with children who have emotional and behavioral challenges and engage in physical aggression
  • Address verbal aggression in children who utilize words to communicate
  • Create individualized treatment and education plans that leverage the strengths of each child while addressing their specific behaviors and teaching them skills

Qualifications

Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Bachelor or higher degree preferred
  • Proficient computer skills
  • Valid driver license must be maintained

Experience:

  • One (1) year previous experience in a Psychiatric facility preferred
  • One (1) year experience working with individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder and/or Intellectual Disabilities preferred

Schedule

Part-Time 3PM-11PM ONLY
