About the role

River Oaks Homecare is seeking a compassionate, experienced, and clinically skilled Behavior Specialist to provide individualized behavioral support to adults with physical disabilities and/or Other Related Conditions (ORCs). This role focuses on providing person-centered behavioral supports directly within clients' homes and community-based settings across Pennsylvania to promote independence, dignity, safety, and a high quality of life.

Key Responsibilities

  • Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBA): Conduct comprehensive assessments to determine the function, triggers, antecedents, and environmental variables contributing to challenging behaviors
  • Behavior Support Plans: Develop, implement, and monitor individualized Positive Behavior Support Plans (PBSPs) containing specific, measurable goals and proactive teaching strategies
  • Clinical Collaboration: Partner closely with Service Coordinators, caregivers, families, direct support professionals, and home health staff to align interventions with the client's Individualized Support Plan (ISP)
  • Education & Training: Provide coaching and training to the interdisciplinary support team to ensure behavioral strategies are implemented consistently and effectively
  • Crisis & Safety Support: Establish individualized crisis prevention and response protocols, utilizing the least restrictive interventions to maintain a safe environment
  • Compliance & Documentation: Maintain accurate progress notes and clinical tracking in full compliance with the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services (DHS), Office of Long-Term Living (OLTL), and Chapter 6100 regulations

Qualifications

  • Credential Requirement: Current Pennsylvania Licensed Behavioral Specialist (LBS) or Licensed Social Worker (LSW) credential
  • Education: Master's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Behavioral Health, Education, Counseling, Applied Behavior Analysis, or a closely related field
  • Experience: Demonstrated experience conducting behavioral assessments and developing support plans for adults with developmental or physical disabilities
  • Travel: Must possess reliable transportation and a willingness to travel to clients' homes and community settings
