Responsibilities
- Assist with linkages and referrals for youth identified as in need of community-based services in supports.
- Aid in the development of targeted and intensive level interventions and strategies.
- Provide direct services to a referred group of targeted students.
- Develop methods of tracking effectiveness of behavior support plans.
- Regularly review and analyze data and make changes to plans as necessary.
- Prepare and provide CPI/PMT training to district staff on an “as needed” basis.
- Assist teachers in the development and implementation of social skills curricula appropriate to students’ ages and abilities.
- Collaborate with school personnel in the development of behavior plans.
- Aid in the development and implementation of alternative interventions to suspension.
- Provide ongoing staff observation and feedback related to behavioral treatment integrity.
- Participate in meetings and professional development as required or appropriate.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Five or more years of successful school-based experience in a special education environment preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of psychology/behavior modification techniques.
- Ability to implement/interpret behavior intervention plans, classroom systems, IEP’s and reinforcement systems.
- Current CPI or PMT trainer certification.
- Collaborating with school personnel about behavioral/social/emotional health.
- Evidence of diplomacy, flexibility, creativity and perseverance.
- Effective facilitation, negotiation and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills.
