Behavior Interventionist - Ramona

About the role

As a Behavior Interventionist with IABA, you will serve as a key member of our team, specializing in delivering evidence-based, person-centered interventions to support children with developmental disabilities like Autism Spectrum Disorder. You will implement personalized treatment plans, foster skill development, and promote positive behavior change using the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). Your primary goal is to provide one-to-one intensive intervention, assisting clients in developing skills necessary for integration into school and other community settings.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct intervention with child and family using positive-only methods to reinforce desired behaviors and enhance play, self-care, cognitive, social, and communication skills
• Keep accurate client records and maintain administrative records
• Drive between sites within San Diego County, CA
• Attend and participate in training and group supervision
• Implement behavior support plans, discrete trial teaching strategies, and play-based interventions with 80% fidelity as measured by supervisor observation
• Implement case-specific differential reinforcement procedures (DRO and DRA) for the duration of the session
• Use least-to-most prompting strategies with 80% fidelity
• Simultaneously take accurate data while conducting discrete trials (80% data reliability)

Requirements

• High school diploma (required)
• Valid CA Driver’s License and auto insurance (required)
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) for data entry and digital logbooks
• Proficiency with web-based online learning and scheduling platforms (desktop and mobile)
• Ability to pass LIVESCAN (DOJ/FBI), provide DMV printout, and current TB clearance
• First Aid and CPR training
• COVID-19 vaccination (where permitted by law; reasonable accommodations considered)
• Prior experience with Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) working with children with autism or other developmental disorders (preferred)
• Bachelor’s degree (preferred)
• Ability to adapt to various situations and remain calm under stress
• Attendance and punctuality are critical

Skills

• Administrative proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and web-based platforms
• Clinical skills in implementing ABA principles, behavior support plans, and discrete trial teaching
• Data collection and reliability (80% accuracy as measured by supervisor observation)
• Play-based intervention and least-to-most prompting strategies

Schedule

Part-time: Monday–Friday, 2:00 PM–7:30 PM (10–15 hours per week to start). Must be available to drive throughout San Diego County, CA.
