Behavior Interventionist - Pathways Level IV Program
Centrally located on Interstate 94 less than 25 miles northwest of Maple Grove and 30 miles southeast of Saint Cloud, Monticello is home to five brick-and-mortar schools and two nature-based facilities serving more than 4,000 students annually. Monticello consistently ranks in the top 50 school districts in the state as measured by a number of organizations and metrics, and performs above the state average in graduation rates, test scores, and early college opportunities.
About the role
Behavior Interventionist for Pathways Foundations 1, a special education program through the Sherburne and Northern Wright Special Education Cooperative. Foundations 1 is a program for elementary school students who have ASD and/or EBD and who require intensive instruction for behavior regulation.
Schedule
- 1.0 FTE – Full-time position
- 6.75 hours/day, Monday – Friday
- 8:00 AM – 2:45 PM
Qualifications
- Handle with Care Training required (training will be provided if not already certified)
- Experience in working with challenging behaviors
- Two years of college preferred
- High School diploma or equivalent required
Skills
- Skill in supervising and directing appropriate student behavior and applying consistent redirection and consequences for appropriate and inappropriate behaviors
- Ability to apply rules, instructions, stated policies, procedures, and IEP goals/plans
- Ability to develop a rapport with children and explain concepts in a simple and understandable manner
- Ability to work with children of various ability levels
- Skilled in adapting lesson plans to the individual needs of students to facilitate learning and assist in meeting individual learning goals
- Knowledge and application of technology and technology integration
- Knowledge of District discipline policy
- Effective communication and teaming skills
- Willingness to be flexible
- Excellent attendance
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of information about students and families
- Experience working with diverse students and families
Pay
Starting rate: $27.64/hour
