About the role
Behavior Technicians provide direct care services to people with behavioral challenges as a result of brain injury. They implement facility wide behavioral training as well as individual behavioral protocols, complete necessary documentation, model appropriate behavior, provide positive reinforcement and corrective feedback on a daily basis. They assist residents in ADLs, participate in physical, vocational, and recreational activities, transport residents to medical appointments, vocational, recreational, and educational activities in the community, and complete all daily needed documentation.
Responsibilities
- Implements facility wide behavioral training as well as individual behavioral protocols, completing the necessary documentation
- Models appropriate behavior, provides positive reinforcement and corrective feedback on a daily basis
- Affords assistance in ADLs (bathing, transfers, toileting, physical assistance)
- Assists and participates in physical, vocational, and recreational activities
- Transports residents to medical appointments, vocational, recreational, and educational activities in the community
- Completes all daily needed documentation (behavioral data, token exchange, shift summaries, house charts, checklists, medication administration records, and incident reports)
- Completes all housekeeping chores (laundry, vacuuming, dusting, etc.)
Requirements
- A high school diploma or GED is required
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must have a valid driver's license and maintain responsible driving behaviors
- Ability to lift 50lbs
