Before Care

Before-Care staff at The Community Charter School of Paterson oversee the before-school program, ensuring a safe, engaging, and welcoming environment for students from 7:15 AM to 8:00 AM.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement age-appropriate activities for students.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment.
• Welcome students as they arrive and ensure they are engaged in activities.
• Monitor student behavior and implement disciplinary measures when necessary.
• Foster a positive and inclusive atmosphere.
• Ensure all safety protocols are followed, including emergency procedures.
• Conduct regular safety checks of the facility and equipment; report findings to the Before Care Coordinator.
• Maintain accurate records of student attendance and incidents.
• Communicate effectively with parents, addressing any concerns or questions.
• Coordinate with school administration and teachers regarding student needs.
• Provide regular updates on the program’s activities and progress.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or General Education Development (GED).
• 1 year of experience in childcare.
• Spanish-speaking preferred.
