Before and After School Supervisor

About the role

The Village of Riverside is looking for an energetic Site Supervisor for our Before and After School Program. Applicants should have a genuine interest in working with children and providing a safe and fun atmosphere. This position works as part of a team and must be willing to adapt, lead, and plan. The Before and After School Program Site Supervisor works closely and reports directly to the Recreation Supervisor.

Schedule

• Start date: August 17, 2026
• Program period: August 27, 2026 – June 15, 2027
• Training: August 24–26, 2026
• Typical hours: Monday–Friday, 6:15 AM–8:05 AM and 2:45 PM–6:00 PM
• Four required afternoon shifts per week (2:45 PM–6:00 PM)
• Possible additional hours in Parks & Recreation classes and events

Responsibilities

• Supervise children ages 3–14 in a before- and after-school setting
• Plan and lead age-appropriate activities and sports
• Ensure a safe, fun, and structured environment
• Work with minimal supervision and adapt to changing needs
• Assist with transportation of children in Village vehicles when required

Requirements

• Valid Driver’s License
• State of Illinois Driver’s Abstract (required if driving a Village vehicle)
• Ability to pass CPR/First Aid training provided by the Village of Riverside
• Subject to criminal background check, pre-employment physical, and drug/alcohol screening

• Availability for immediate training

Pay

• Starting rate: $18.75 per hour, depending on experience
• Salary range: $18.72 – $25.56 per hour
