About the Role
This position is under the direct supervision of the South Connection Program Manager. The program operates 7AM – 6PM Monday through Friday except for designated closings. The role staffs the South Connection Enrichment Program in Oakwood, a consultation and education project providing an enrichment program for elementary school-aged children.
Responsibilities
- Plan, implement, and evaluate activities for the enrichment program.
- Supervise students and maintain a safe environment.
- Supervise students during transportation to and from schools.
- Prepare and serve breakfast, lunch, and snack daily, including necessary cleanup.
- Drive students in Oakwood vans for field trips.
- Encourage appropriate use and storage of equipment/supplies.
- Check and secure the building before closing.
- Assist children with toileting issues and other special needs that may arise.
- Perform all other duties and tasks as assigned.

Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma or GED.
- Must be able to pass a background check, motor vehicle check, and drug test.
- Specialist: Must have a bachelor’s degree.
Qualifications
- Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups.
- Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with variables in situations with limited standardization. Ability to interpret instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Computer Skills: Ability to learn current practice management systems, electronic medical records, Microsoft Word, text paging, Internet, and Intranet.
- Certifications: Must earn and maintain Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (training available through PHS).
Physical Demands
- Frequently required to stand, walk, use hands, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear.
- Occasionally required to sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment
- Occasionally exposed to fumes, airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risk of radiation.
- Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
