Before & After School Group Leader

Essential Functions

• Provide supervision, guidance, and programming to children enrolled in our EEC licensed school age programs.
• Provide positive role modeling to members.
• Maintain a positive attitude at all times.
• Ensure that members are encouraged to participate in a variety of program areas/activities, receive guidance, instruction and constructive feedback to develop skills in program area(s).
• Actively engage with members.
• Demonstrate leadership to assure conduct, safety and development of members.
• Provide positive reinforcement & feedback.
• Monitor and evaluate programs, services and activities.
• Follow the group schedule and actively participate in all scheduled activities.
• Ensure that transitions are safe & on time.
• Achieve a productive work environment by actively participating in staff meetings.
• Provide adequate supervision at all times and ensure a safe environment.
• Maintain accurate attendance.
• Provide first aid as needed and provide school age director with a clear, detailed injury report in a timely manner.
• Enforce Club rules consistently and fairly.
• May be asked to participate in special programs and/or events.
• Show enthusiasm about all Club programs and activities, enthusiastically greet youth, family and adult members, and consistently reinforce and encourage honesty, responsibility, fairness and respect for members, parents and property.

Requirements

• Education / Experience: High School diploma or GED. Must have 6 months experience working with children.
• Skills/Knowledge: Mandatory CPR and First Aid within 6 months of hire. Experience in working with children Knowledge of youth development Ability to motivate youth and manage challenging behaviors Ability to interact with the general public Ability to plan and implement quality programs Ability to organize and supervise members in a safe environment
