BEEF MODERNIZATION SORTER

About the role

A Beef Modernization Sorter must have strong observational abilities while performing precision knife cuts so they may make correct decisions related to pathology, presentation or possible sanitary dressing deficiencies. They work in a high-paced environment and must understand Food Safety and Quality are their primary responsibility.

Responsibilities

• Work effectively in a TEAM atmosphere
• Must be detail oriented and disciplined
• Willingness to learn anatomy, physiology and pathological disease processes
• Must be able to lift, push, and pull product repetitively
• Undergo intensive and recurring training
• Work closely with many different harvest floor departments including USDA-FSIS Consumer Safety Inspectors

Qualifications

• Harvest floor knife experience – straight knife
• Ability to sharpen a knife and maintain a sharp knife – straight knife
• Excellent communication skills – English speaking and writing
