Overview

Queens Community House (QCH) is a multi-site, multi-service settlement house serving diverse neighborhoods in Queens. Founded in 1975, QCH offers a broad network of comprehensive services across 11 different neighborhoods, impacting individuals, families, and entire communities.

Responsibilities

• Match homebound older adults with volunteers in their community
• Reduce isolation and loneliness among seniors in Jamaica, Queens
• Develop meaningful friendships with older adults through social engagement activities
• Discuss shared interests, engage in fun conversations, play board games, and go for short walks

Requirements

• Must be 18 years and over
• Commit to 6 months of volunteerism
• Provide 2 non-familial references
• Consent to a background check

Qualifications

• Open to developing meaningful relationships with older adults
• Willingness to engage in various social activities with older adults
