Beauty Stylist - West County

As a Beauty Stylist, you’ll drive beauty sales across all brands by maximizing demonstration and artistry techniques, focusing on selling the customer what’s right for them. You’re passionate about the product, thrive in a commissioned sales environment, and are committed to providing exceptional one-on-one customer service.

Responsibilities

• Set and achieve sales goals for both in-store and digital selling, using tools like text and social media
• Stay updated on industry trends and product knowledge to maintain expertise
• Initiate service consultations by asking open-ended questions to understand customer preferences and needs
• Build lasting relationships through follow-ups, product suggestions, and event invitations
• Grow sales via appointment-based selling, leveraging technology, and opening new Nordstrom Rewards accounts
• Act as an entrepreneur by creating in-store events and networking in the community
• Maintain strong vendor relationships to identify key products and focuses

Requirements

• 1+ years of Beauty industry experience
• Ability to work a flexible schedule based on department needs
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong organization and follow-through
• High level of ownership, accountability, and initiative
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment

Physical Requirements

• Continuous movement for 6-8 hours per shift, including bending, twisting, squatting, flexing, and reaching
• Frequent use of hands for grasping, fine manipulation, pushing, and pulling
• Handling bulky or awkwardly shaped items, including lifting above the head
• Regularly lift items weighing up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 25 pounds

Pay

Hourly pay range: $21.95 - $22.85, dependent on location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Commission varies by merchandise sold (3%–14.5% for apparel/shoes/accessories; 3% for Beauty and Men’s Fragrance). Performance-based incentives/bonuses may also apply.
