Beauty Sales Consultant

About the Role

Join the beauty retail division of CVS Health, America's leading retail pharmacy with more than 9,000 stores. As a Beauty Sales Consultant, you will provide top-notch sales service and beauty advice to customers, leveraging your passion and knowledge of the retail beauty industry to enhance their shopping experience.

Responsibilities

• Seek out customers to ensure a personalized and engaging beauty advisor experience through tailored sales service, upselling, suggestive selling, and follow-up to build lasting relationships.
• Engage in conversation with each customer entering the beauty zone, actively listening to their needs and providing specialized sales advice.
• Use verbal skills to guide customer conversations, stimulate new thought processes, and generate sales.
• Serve as the brand expert by answering customer questions in detail, leveraging product knowledge to maximize sales.
• Educate customers on product usage and benefits, utilizing the CVS beauty monthly sampling program to build relationships.
• Participate in and represent company sales programs or events that positively impact business.
• Discuss CVS Beauty Club programs, invite customers to in-store events, and explain promotions to close sales.
• Create and maintain product displays, end caps, and promotional materials supporting key brands and corporate initiatives.
• Maintain a clean, well-stocked, and well-merchandised beauty zone compliant with hygiene standards.
• Ensure compliance with CVS tester sanitation, hazardous waste disposal, and tool cleansing policies.
• Complete initial 30/60/90-day onboarding training and ongoing educational programs to stay current on sales, product knowledge, and selling skills.
• Execute the established sales plan by meeting sales budgets and tracking progress.
• Participate in sales training meetings and conference calls regarding programs, promotions, new items, brand launches, sales goals, and customer care.
• Strive to exceed prior sales goals and maximize sales budgets.
• Maintain a professional appearance in compliance with company guidelines.
• Stay informed and enthusiastic about the latest beauty trends and techniques.
• Continuously enhance product knowledge and client service skills.

Requirements

• Sales-oriented with the ability to use sales data and product/brand knowledge to meet sales and beauty service goals.
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
• Goal-driven with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Available to work a flexible retail schedule, including mornings, evenings, weekends, extended hours, and "Peak" hours.
• Ability to perform tasks listed throughout the job description, including standing, moving throughout the store, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching objects on lower shelves.
• Manual dexterity to perform duties such as ear piercing.
• Demonstrated ability and willingness to perform ear-piercing services (training and certification provided).
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• In specific stores, bilingual ability in English and Spanish is required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior beauty sales experience.
• Current knowledge of beauty products and brands.
• Strong passion for beauty.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Pay

The typical pay range for this role is $20.47 - $29.47 per hour. The actual base salary offer will depend on factors such as experience, education, geography, and other relevant considerations.

Schedule

This is a full-time position with an anticipated 40 hours per week.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and/or move throughout the store for the majority of work time to provide customer service and beauty consulting.
• Able to stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach or grasp objects, including those on lower shelves.
• Manual dexterity to perform tasks such as ear piercing.
