About the role
As a Beauty Counter Manager at Nordstrom in Downtown Seattle, you will play a dual role, combining elements of a salesperson and educator. Your primary responsibility is to maximize sales in your assigned beauty brand while creating personalized beauty experiences for customers.
Responsibilities
- Conduct makeup applications, skincare analyses, and recommend products based on customer's beauty goals.
- Collaborate with team members to create a welcoming and inclusive environment for all customers.
- Set and achieve personal and counter sales goals, utilizing both in-store and digital selling tools (including text and social media).
- Manage the scheduling and execution of vendor events and promotions.
- Build and maintain strong vendor relationships to maximize business results.
- Keep the department customer-ready through organization and cleanliness.
- Stay updated with the latest beauty trends, products, and industry knowledge through provided trainings.
- Manage sales, refunds, exchanges, and encourage the opening of new Nordstrom Rewards program accounts.
Requirements
- Passion for customer service and beauty, including trends, makeup application, and skincare.

Physical Requirements
Continuous movement for 6-8 hours per shift, including frequent bending, twisting, squatting, flexing, and reaching to handle merchandise and assist customers. Frequent use of hands for grasping, fine manipulation, pushing, and pulling. Handling bulky and sometimes awkwardly shaped items, including reaching for and lifting these items above the head. Regularly lifting items weighing up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 25 pounds.
Pay Range Details
The pay range(s) below has been provided in compliance with state specific laws. Pay ranges may vary by location. The commission most selling employees receive varies based on the merchandise they sell. For example, Apparel, shoes, and accessories sales typically range from 3% to 14.5%, while Beauty and Men’s Fragrance sales roles typically receive a 3% commission.
