Beauty Counter Manager - Clinique - Easton Town Center

About the role

As a Beauty Counter Manager in the Nordstrom Beauty Department, you’ll create personalized beauty experiences for customers while maximizing sales for your assigned beauty brand. This dual role blends sales and education in a commissioned environment. You’ll build a customer following both in-store and digitally, collaborate with a passionate team, and stay current with beauty trends.

Responsibilities

• Conduct makeup applications, skincare analyses, and recommend products based on customers’ beauty goals
• Collaborate with team members to create a welcoming and inclusive environment for all customers
• Set and achieve personal and counter sales goals using in-store and digital selling tools (including text and social media)
• Manage scheduling and execution of vendor events and promotions
• Build and maintain strong vendor relationships to maximize business results
• Keep the department customer-ready through organization and cleanliness
• Stay updated on the latest beauty trends, products, and industry knowledge through trainings provided by Nordstrom and luxury brand partners
• Manage sales, refunds, exchanges, and build customer loyalty by opening new Nordstrom Rewards program accounts

Requirements

• Passion for customer service and beauty, including trends, makeup application, and skincare
• Excellent ability to connect with customers, proactively handle concerns, and contribute to a positive team environment
• Empathy and respect for all customers, providing a supportive environment during makeup and skincare application
• Strong multitasking, organization, and follow-through skills
• Drive to achieve sales goals, with interest in using networking and technology
• Ability to work a flexible schedule based on business needs, including evenings and weekends
• High level of ownership, accountability, and initiative

Physical Requirements

• Continuous movement for 6-8 hours per shift, including frequent bending, twisting, squatting, flexing, and reaching to handle merchandise and assist customers
• Frequent use of hands for grasping, fine manipulation, pushing, and pulling
• Handling bulky and awkwardly shaped items, including reaching above the head
• Regularly lift items weighing up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 25 pounds

Pay

Hourly pay range: $21.70 - $22.60. Commission varies by merchandise sold; Beauty and Men’s Fragrance roles typically receive 3%.
