Beautification Laborer

About the role

H 2 O Innovation provides public works management services & operations assistance for water & wastewater treatment plants to municipalities, government organizations and businesses across North America. H 2 O is currently seeking a Beautification Laborer to join our team in Pascagoula, MS. The successful candidate will perform a variety of manual labor duties related to the maintenance, upkeep and beautification of city owned properties, parks, right-of-ways, medians, drainage areas and other public spaces. Work includes landscaping, grounds maintentance, litter removal, trimming, cleaning and other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Maintains and beautifies medians, rights-of-way, public grounds and other designated areas.
• Performs mowing, edging, weed-eating, trimming, pruning and general landscaping duties.
• Removes litter, debris, leaves, branches and other refuse from public areas.
• Operates hand tools, power tools and grounds-maintenance equipment safely and properly.
• Performs general clean up and maintenance of city facilities and outdoor areas.
• Assists with seasonal beautification projects, special events and community improvment projects.
• Assists other Public Works crews with general labor duties when needed.
• Maintains work ares in a clean and safe condition.
• Follows all city safety policies, procedures and applicable OSHA requirements.
• Reports damaged equipment, hazardous conditions, or maintenance concerns to the supervisor.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Skills

• High school diploma or equivelant preferred.
• Ability to perform physically demanding outdoor work for extended periods.
• Ability to operate hand tools and basic power equipment.
• Ability to work as part of a crew.
• Valid driver's license is required.
• Must be able to frequently stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, climb, push, pull and lift.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50lbs.
• The successful candidate will have to pass a background check which includes criminal background & motor vehicle report checks, as well as drug & alcohol screenings.

Pay

$15/hr
