Bean Dump Operator

About the role

We're looking for a Soybean Truck Dump Operator to join our team. No experience is required—we provide paid, hands-on training from day one to help you build a career in the agriculture industry. This role is primarily responsible for performing all tasks related to dumping trucks at a soybean processing location, including receiving and identifying trucks, dumping commodities, routing products to appropriate bins, and maintaining housekeeping and security.

Responsibilities

• Fully participate in the company Safety, Food Safety, and Quality programs and attend daily pre-shift meetings.
• Perform all duties in compliance with OSHA, company safety, and environmental regulations (ISO where applicable), including wearing appropriate PPE for the task.
• Communicate with customers in a way that maintains and enhances customer relationships.
• Operate equipment and monitor Dust Suppression Systems, recording readings as required.
• Start up and inspect all belts and dump equipment.
• Ensure the accuracy of the truck bin list with the Supervisor; spot the truck, receive the truck, document, dump the product, and route it to the assigned bin.
• Ensure the dump pit is empty, clean, and the pit gate is closed; sweep and clean the apron and pit area to prepare for the next dump.
• Shut down equipment at the end of the day and log bin activities.
• Keep Non-GMO beans separated from GMO beans.
• Visually inspect beans during dumping for signs of contamination, foreign material, treated beans, or other conditions that could disrupt operations; stop dumping immediately if contamination is detected and inform management.
• Communicate with the Bean Scale Operator regarding quality or contamination issues for proper discounts.
• Perform housekeeping in the dump area and assist in other parts of the plant for operations or maintenance when urgent issues arise.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• No prior experience required.

Physical Demands & Requirements

• Ability to perform heavy lifting: up to 20 lbs. daily, 60 lbs. occasionally, and ask for assistance for anything over 60 lbs.
• Ability to climb ladders or stairs repeatedly to significant elevations (up to 120 feet) with at least 30 feet before a rest.
• Ability to use a 300-pound rated ladder on a regular basis.
• Ability to wear required safety equipment at all times.
• Ability to work at elevated heights (100+ feet).
• Ability to understand and communicate verbally, in person, and over a two-way radio.
• Ability to understand and follow written instructions.
• Ability to work outside in extreme weather conditions.
• Ability to grasp and reach constantly/continuously.
• Ability to work the entire normally scheduled shift (including rotating shifts) and overtime when necessary.
• Ability to work in an environment with high dust levels.
• Ability to perform work in confined spaces and at significant heights.
• Ability to meet requirements of PFT and fit testing, when applicable.

Environmental Conditions

The work environment includes both indoor and outdoor settings with exposure to heat, cold, wet, humid, dry, and arid conditions. Personal protective equipment is frequently required. Travel up to 5% may be required, including off-site training.

Pay

The expected base pay range for this role is $19.50 - $24.09 per hour. Actual pay offered may vary depending on work location, job-related knowledge, skills, and relevant experience.
