About the role
Beacon Power is seeking individuals who are passionate about sustainable energy storage solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in technology, particularly in areas such as power electronics, system monitoring and controls, and modular design.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement power electronics systems for flywheel energy storage applications.
- Develop and maintain system monitoring and control software for flywheel energy storage systems.
- Contribute to the development of safety protocols and environmental impact assessments for energy storage systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate renewable energy sources into existing grid infrastructure.
- Support the installation and commissioning of flywheel energy storage systems at various locations.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience in power electronics, system monitoring, and controls.
- Experience with carbon fiber flywheels and system safety protocols.
- Strong understanding of renewable energy integration and grid balancing.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Qualifications
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, MATLAB, or C++.
- Knowledge of environmental regulations and their impact on energy storage systems.
- Experience with project management tools and methodologies.
