About the Role
The BCF Spinning Operator is responsible for the runability of assigned machines/towers (Reiter, Neumag, Swiss Tex, and SmartPly equipment) and ensuring the quality of manufactured products. This role also includes maintaining general housekeeping of the work area.
Responsibilities
- Follow all safety rules for the department and entire facility.
- Operate and maintain Godet rolls, switches, heaters, and aspirators on BCF Spinning machines.
- Understand and manage the correct yarn path, rethreading the machine as needed.
- Interpret Instrumar alarm lights and respond appropriately.
- Operate and doff winders when the yarn cycle is complete.
- Perform online quality inspections of yarn (e.g., shade, air tack, winding, proper labels).
- Properly pack and label yarn on buggies to deliver a first-quality product.
- Train new and/or existing operators until they are competent.
- Maintain machine cleanliness (e.g., string waste, tack box, spin finish trays).
- Ensure general housekeeping of the work area (e.g., trash, sweeping, mopping, wiping down machines).
- Transport yarn test buggies to the lab for quality testing.
- Adhere to Aquafil’s Recycling Guidelines and Environmental Management Systems Policy.
- Assist supervisors/crew leaders during product changes and spin pack changes.
- Support other operators as needed.
- Maintain Automotive Alarm Record documentation.
- Report any discrepancies to supervisors, line technicians, or crew leaders.
