BCBA (Mental Health Specialty Flex)

About the role

The Edinburg Center is seeking a BCBA for its Mental Health Specialty Flex Team. This role is not your typical BCBA position; it offers unique opportunities to apply ABA principles in the context of mental health challenges.

Responsibilities

• Conduct functional behavior assessments and design positive behavior support plans
• Provide parent coaching
• Develop and implement family therapy sessions
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including mental health clinicians, occupational therapists, peer mentors, and family partners
• Participate in individual and group supervision with a BCBA and LICSW
• Think creatively and be flexible while adhering to ABA principles
• Work independently and as part of a team to address complex mental health and behavioral challenges

Requirements

• BACB or near BCBA certification
• Experience conducting functional behavior assessments and developing behavior support plans
• Experience working with youth 21 years and under with serious emotional and behavioral challenges or autism
• Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA)
• Current BACB certification or near BCBA certification
• Experience in mental health settings
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively
