BCBA - Caregiver Training Specialist

Description

The BCBA - Caregiver Training Specialist is responsible for delivering high-quality, medically necessary caregiver training services (CPT 97156/97158). This role partners with each client’s supervising BCBA to ensure caregivers are effectively trained to implement, generalize, and maintain treatment gains across home, school, and community settings.

Responsibilities

• Deliver caregiver training services to improve treatment outcomes across home, school, and community settings.
• Collaborate with the supervising BCBA to execute caregiver training components of the treatment plan.
• Maintain a caseload of caregivers rather than direct client therapy, focusing on building caregiver competency, consistency, and engagement in treatment.
• Ensure caregivers can independently and consistently implement intervention strategies outside of sessions, resulting in meaningful skill generalization and long-term maintenance.

Requirements

• A master’s degree in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) or a related field from an accredited institution.
• A BCBA certification from the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB).
• Experience in providing ABA therapy and behavior support interventions.
• Knowledge of behavior-analytic methods and ability to apply these methods in various settings.
• Ability to work closely with caregivers, school staff, and other specialists to develop and implement effective training plans.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport and trust with caregivers and clients.
• Proficiency in using data collection tools and software to track and evaluate caregiver performance.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of experience in ABA therapy and behavior support interventions.
• Experience working with individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) or other developmental disabilities.
• Experience in providing caregiver training and support.
• Experience in collaborating with school staff and other specialists.
• Experience in using behavior-analytic methods to develop and implement training plans.
