About the role

The teacher will implement daily instruction aligned with the Nevada Common Core Standards and course syllabi, fostering an educational atmosphere that supports student learning and district goals. This position reports directly to the school site administrator.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
• Valid or obtainable Nevada teaching license issued by the Nevada Department of Education
• Certification in relevant subject area
• Must meet Highly Qualified Teacher requirements upon hire

Responsibilities

• Administer district curriculum aligned with Nevada Common Core Standards
• Create and maintain a supportive, orderly, and academically focused learning environment
• Develop and implement effective lesson plans, including Components of an Effective Mathematics Lesson
• Analyze student progress and adjust instruction accordingly
• Establish and enforce a classroom management/discipline plan to ensure safety
• Follow assessment regulations and guidelines
• Foster a positive classroom climate that promotes learning
• Collaborate professionally with administrators, staff, parents, and the community
• Integrate technology into the instructional program
• Participate in job-related duties and activities as assigned
• Demonstrate effective secondary classroom instruction
• Work cooperatively with students, parents, peers, administration, and community members
• Set and communicate clear objectives for lessons, units, and projects
• Use a variety of instructional techniques to meet diverse student needs
• Engage as an active member of the faculty and staff
• Maintain accurate and complete records as required by law and district policy
• Pursue ongoing professional development
• Communicate effectively in writing and orally
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned by the principal
