Battery Technician - Mixing
Position Overview
The Carbon Mixing Technician role is an integral part of our dynamic innovation team within the Performance Materials Technical group. Based at our North Charleston facility, this hands-on position will involve working closely with battery engineers and material scientists to develop innovative research, product development, and quality control activities. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing high-quality mixing of conductive carbon additives and performing routine and advanced testing using various mixing equipment, contributing to our Energy Storage projects and helping drive our growth in the battery materials sector.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in chemistry, chemical engineering, materials science and engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related scientific field.
Experience: At least 1 year of experience in a laboratory or manufacturing environment. Familiarity with dispersion characterization is a plus.
Technical Skills: Strong in process control, and accurate weighing and measuring chemicals. Able to strictly follow SOP and experimental designs provided by engineers and scientists. Proficiency in operating laboratory equipment. Comfort working with fine powders, hazardous organic solvents, and acids/bases in laboratory environment.
Analytical and time management Abilities: Attention to detail, and high standards for data accuracy, organization and reporting. Strong in analytical, observational, and time management skills. Familiarity with Laboratory SOPs and Microsoft Excel is preferred.
Communication: Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and share information clearly and proactively. Ability to work respectfully and effectively within a diverse team.
Safety: Strong commitment to safety protocols and practices. Work in compliance with chemical hygiene plans and lab safety regulations.
Strong work ethic, initiative, and flexibility.
Desired Competencies
Technical Expertise: Experience with dispersion making processing and dispersion characterization technique is highly valued.
