The maintenance helper position is responsible for safely performing duties to light repair on production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive, and productive maintenance systems and processes to support the achievement of the site’s business goals and objectives.

About the role

As a US FOODS® Battery Technician, you will assist with and perform general maintenance functions on equipment, buildings, and grounds as required. You will help ensure equipment is in good working order, perform general repairs, assist with upkeep, troubleshoot, repair, and replace equipment, and support repair work from start to finish. You will also maintain cleanliness in the work area and adhere to food safety and work practices in compliance with company policies and SQF requirements. Your role supports company-driven food safety improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Assist with general maintenance functions on equipment, building, and grounds
• Ensure equipment is in good working order
• Perform general repairs and assist with equipment upkeep
• Troubleshoot, repair, and replace equipment
• Assist with repair work from start to finish
• Maintain cleanliness of the work area
• Adhere to food safety practices and company policies
• Comply with SQF requirements and support food safety improvement initiatives
• Work with a sense of urgency while following safety policies and procedures
• Operate in a climate-controlled environment with temperatures ranging from 34 to 38 degrees

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent (required)
• Minimum of 2 years’ clerical or warehouse experience (required)
• Intermediate Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook experience (preferred)
• Basic maintenance capabilities and repair skills
• Able to lift 75 lbs (with assistance)
• Able to multi-task in a fast-paced, noisy environment

Pay

The expected base rate for this role is between $24.00 and $29.00 per hour, with overtime compensation as applicable.
