About the role
We are an engineering group at HATCI that focuses on battery research and development for vehicle production and future mobility. As an overseas research arm of a Korean company, we specialize in North American development opportunities and support local manufacturing and development for Hyundai, Kia, and Genesis electrified vehicles.
Responsibilities
- Designing and executing battery performance tests on vehicles, battery systems, and cells
- Comparing product features against competitor products and industry standards
- Communicating directions and needs, including ownership of presentations, reports, and meetings
- Collaborating with many groups – local manufacturing sites, technology and material vendors, Korean counterparts, internal business and engineering teams
Requirements
Basic:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Systems Engineering, Reliability Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrochemical Engineering or related field
- Vehicle electrification technology and high voltage battery systems knowledge
- Numerical analysis and data-driven decision-making skills
- Clear and organized communication skills
Qualifications
Preferred:
- Master of Science degree in related field
- Electrified vehicle experience, including some of the following: battery testing, failure analysis, quality issue analysis and management processes
- Collaborating with major automotive OEMs or Tier 1 suppliers
- Managing vendor relationships and long-term test plans
- Battery reliability/safety test and system improvement activities
- Industry standards of battery performance tests and failure analysis knowledge
- Familiarity with vehicle diagnostics and vehicle communication protocols
- Experience with INCA software from ETAS
