BATTALION CHIEF – FIRE CONTROL COORDINATOR

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for coordinating fire control operations within assigned jurisdiction.
  • Ensures compliance with all state and federal regulations.
  • Manages incident response teams and resources.
  • Develops and implements strategies to prevent wildfires.
  • Coordinates with local, state, and federal agencies during emergencies.
  • Oversees the training and development of firefighters.
  • Monitors weather conditions and prepares for potential disasters.

Requirements

  • Valid California Drivers License (CDL).
  • Respiratory Protection Program (RPP) Clearance.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including running, walking, difficult climbing, jumping, twisting, bending, and lifting over 25 pounds.
  • Experience in fire control coordination and incident management.
  • Knowledge of firefighting techniques and procedures.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in fire control coordination and incident management.
  • Bachelor's degree in Fire Science, Emergency Management, or a related field.
  • Current certification in CPR and First Aid.
  • Experience working in high-stress environments.

Skills

  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to make quick decisions under pressure.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Pay

The salary range for this position is $6,882.00 - $8,930.00 per month. New to State candidates will be hired into the minimum salary of the classification or minimum of alternate range when applicable.

Schedule

The position is full-time and works in-office.
