Batchweigher/Mixer Operator - 2nd shift

About the role

We are seeking Mixer Operators to manufacture high-quality printing ink. The right candidate will be trained to operate a mill machine and on TPM activities.

Responsibilities

  • Mix batches of ink as directed by the supervisor.
  • Provide batch samples to QC as needed and make any additions as directed.
  • Test and track the temperature of the batch when needed.
  • Deliver batches to mill staging areas as directed.
  • Dispose of dirty solvent and notify the supervisor that this has been completed.
  • Label solvent tubs for cleaning mixers as “Flammable” and keep them grounded at all times.
  • Properly maintain mixers as directed, including lubrication, and notify the supervisor of any mechanical defects.
  • Change the mixer blades when needed.
  • Use the required protective equipment (dust mask, gloves, apron, glasses, etc.).
  • Follow safety rules at all times.

Requirements

  • Have three months of related work experience.
  • Demonstrate good math skills and basic computer skills.
  • Be detail-oriented.
  • Be reliable to work assigned shift.
  • Be flexible to work overtime as required.
  • Have a strong Autonomous Maintenance (AM) background.
  • Be able to perform an active role on multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Have good attendance and punctuality.
  • Be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Qualifications (Preferred)

  • A high school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Forklift experience (training available if lacking).
  • Mixing, mill, and pump filter industry background.
  • Previous experience in the ink industry.
