Responsibilities
- Adhere to all health and safety policies/procedures, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and wear the required personal protective equipment (PPE) while in the warehouse or production areas (including but not limited to hairnets/beard nets, safety glasses, hearing protection, hard toe and slip/oil resistant shoes, appropriate safety gloves, and seatbelts while operating forklifts).
- Adhere to food quality and food safety as per the standards provided by corporate, customer, and/or governing bodies (e.g., SQF).
- Comply with FDA, state/city regulations, Refresco quality policies, GMPs, HACCP, Allergen, Kosher, and other required regulations.
- Operate all batching/blending equipment in your area of responsibility.
- Ensure the quality and integrity of the product run on the lines based on specifications to meet customer satisfaction.
- Transport required ingredients and pre-weighs by forklift to and from required areas.
- Verify all ingredients against SAP, food safety, food quality, and inventory control parameters before conducting syrup batching.
- Program bulk ingredient delivery systems.
- Follow instructions on batching/blending sheets, add the proper ingredients, and record amounts accurately.
- Accurately obtain blend tank samples and take them to the quality laboratory for testing.
- Follow instructions from the quality department on any batching/blending adjustments necessary to bring product into specification.
- Complete all required documentation for batching/blending operations and forward to QA/Batching department for review.
- Maintain sanitation and cleaning of the area throughout the shift.
- Perform CIP/COP sanitation of all batching/blending lines, tanks, and equipment as scheduled.
- Operate plant water filtration systems.
- Remove empty barrels and bins from batching area to designated storage area and/or trailers.
- Manage time and prioritize tasks to meet production schedules.
- Receive and unload deliveries of bulk concentrates as needed.
- Report all non-compliance, product protection, food safety, and personal safety issues to management when encountered.
- Understand BOD process and assist in BOD of batches.
- Assist in training new employees.
