Batch Plant Operator

Location: Conshohocken, PA + travel to Malvern, PA plant

About the role

As a Silvi Materials Batch Plant Operator you will be assigned to a home plant location and will also fill in as needed within your area. You will be reimbursed for any additional miles traveled when working at other locations.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily plant inspections, preventative and minor repair maintenance
• Operate the loader and forklift
• Operate the batching process to ensure correct amounts and sizes of aggregates and proportions of cement, additives, and water required for concrete
• Participate in ordering and inventory of raw materials needed for daily concrete production
• Follow procedures to correct any deficiencies in plant operation
• Interact with QC, Drivers, Dispatch, and sales team to ensure product meets specifications
• Ensure assigned established performance indicators are met
• Work toward improvement of the assigned plant and surrounding area
• Follow established procedures to ensure compliance with state, federal, and local regulations and requirements
• Participate in ongoing maintenance and visual evaluations of plant and equipment
• Confer with plant supervisor and other supervisory personnel to resolve problems, provide immediate feedback, and recommend solutions to improve performance
• Promote safety within assigned territory
• Adhere to all Silvi and OSHA rules and regulations at all times
• Wear proper safety equipment while on plant grounds
• Perform other job responsibilities as assigned by management
• Ensure proper documentation of all incoming materials daily

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; some technical, vocational or education preferred
• Working knowledge of OSHA/DOT regulations helpful
• Meet or exceed company safety standards
• Basic concrete knowledge

Skills

• Familiar with Windows (basic applications), Internet, and basic computer skills
• Working knowledge of plant maintenance procedures

Working Conditions

• Able to work extended hours as needed
• Continuous exposure to extreme heat, extreme cold, extreme noise, and working outdoors
• Must wear protective equipment while at the location

Physical Requirements

• Requires stationary position, traverse, move, transport, and the ability to operate, activate, use, prepare, inspect, place, detect, or position equipment
• Must be able to work at heights; climb stairs, ladders, and silos
• Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently
• Perform concrete chipping, shoveling, sweeping, and greasing of plant equipment
• Regularly required to communicate with employees and other individuals
• Function safely within an office environment and industrial plant locations
