Batch Operator - Cool Whip Production

Kraft Heinz is seeking a Batch Operator for the Cool Whip production team at our food processing facility in Avon, NY. This role is responsible for producing and supplying emulsion to product holding tanks while operating, monitoring, troubleshooting, cleaning, and sanitizing process equipment. The Batch Operator ensures products are produced safely, efficiently, and within specification while supporting production, food safety, sanitation, and quality objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Provide a continuous supply of emulsion to product holding tanks in the Process Room.
  • Operate and monitor processing equipment used in Cool Whip production.
  • Perform equipment startup, shutdown, disassembly, sanitation, reassembly, and restart activities.
  • Troubleshoot process and equipment issues.
  • Perform minor mechanical adjustments to maintain production efficiency.
  • Complete required production documentation and period work assignments.
  • Utilize basic computer systems to support production activities.
  • Monitor products to ensure specifications and production requirements are achieved.
  • Recognize and report unusual operating conditions, equipment failures, and quality concerns to leadership.
  • Maintain housekeeping standards throughout the production shift.
  • Support production goals while maintaining safety and quality standards.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives as assigned.
  • Follow all Kraft Heinz safety policies and procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and PPE requirements.
  • Clean and sanitize process equipment, tools, floors, and work areas in accordance with Kraft Heinz standards.
  • Ensure products meet Kraft Heinz Quality Assurance standards, including verifying specifications and completing traceability documentation.
  • Support food safety, GMP, and quality programs, and participate in audits and corrective actions.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to work weekends, holidays, and mandated overtime.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Prior manufacturing experience is preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Food manufacturing experience.
  • Batch processing experience.
  • Mechanical troubleshooting experience.
  • Experience working in regulated manufacturing environments.

Physical Requirements

  • Standing up to 12 hours a day.
  • Lifting up to 25 lbs. regularly; occasional lifting of 50-100 lbs. with assistance.
  • Repetitive motion with hands, kneeling, twisting, squatting, and reaching above shoulder level.
  • Working in hot and cold environments, and loud environments over 85 decibels.
  • Able to give and understand instructions in manufacturing, office, or classroom settings.
  • Must operate a computer and standard office equipment.

Pay

  • Starting Pay: $23.45/hour
  • Second Shift Differential: $1.25/hour
  • Third Shift Differential: $2.50/hour
