About the role
The Batch & Furnace Manager (Glass Manufacturing) oversees furnace and batch house operations, ensuring effective management of labor, equipment, maintenance, and budgeting. This role collaborates with the Production and Quality Managers to maintain high-quality glass container production while promoting continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Manage furnace and batch house operations, including environmental controls and maintenance
- Ensure effective management of labor, equipment, maintenance, and expense budgets
- Work in partnership with the Production and Quality Managers to produce glass containers
- Supervise salary and hourly personnel engaged in all phases of plant's batch and furnace operation
- Manage incoming raw materials and glass formulas
Requirements
- Experience in glass furnace operation and large-scale glass melting operations
- Experience supervising employees, planning work schedules, and directing assignments
- Ability to plan and coordinate all preventive maintenance activities
- Lear manufacturing and continuous improvement experience
Qualifications
- Required: Glass furnace operation and large-scale glass melting operations experience
- Prioritizes safety and quality in all operations
- Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in Ceramic, Chemical, Materials Science or related Engineering field
- High School Diploma or GED

Pay
The expected salary range for this position is between $80,000 - $110,000 and includes a possible 12% quarterly incentive bonus. Actual pay will be adjusted based upon candidate experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.
