Basketball Scorekeeper - Seasonal

Pay: $17.24 per hour
Part-time, seasonal position. Not benefit eligible.

About the role

The City of Eagan is hiring a Basketball Scorekeeper! This position works with recreational basketball teams and officials, runs the game clock, and keeps the official scorebook. Hours are dependent on team registrations. The ideal candidate will be available to start on September 14th.

Responsibilities

• Understand all game and league rules pertaining to game play
• Ensure sportsmanlike conduct of participants and spectators by penalizing those who violate the rules of the game
• Prevent, mediate, and resolve conflicts that may arise during game play
• Ensure proper completion of all scoring documents and report scores to supervisor
• Provide written and/or verbal reports on all incidents, protests, ejections, and facility concerns
• Communicate and interact with a diverse participant population
• Maintain a positive, polite, considerate, and cooperative attitude
• Act in a fair, consistent, and professional manner
• Work independently
• Inform supervisor of any issues regarding the league
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Applicants must be 18 years of age or older
• Must be able to socially, physically and mentally perform all essential position functions under the working conditions as described
• Good knowledge of the fundamentals and rules of the game
• Two (2) seasons of participation, coaching, or scorekeeping an adult recreational league

Qualifications

Things that may help you be successful in this role:

• Two (2) seasons of prior scorekeeping experience

Schedule

This position works Wednesday evenings.

• 100% indoors
• Activity can be hectic while a game is in progress
