About the Club
The Multnomah Athletic Club is more than Portland’s most legendary hub of sports and socializing. It’s like a small city unto itself, offering four restaurants, three pools, a climbing gym, state-of-the-art studios and fitness suite, a complex of racquet sport courts, massage offerings, a boutique, a grand ballroom, and a variety of events spaces—all within 600,000 square feet of recreational possibilities.
Responsibilities
- Plan practices, set goals, and develop athlete skills with constructive feedback.
- Communicate via Team Snap for schedules, updates, and team information.
- Collaborate with the Head Coach on skill instruction and game strategy.
- May lead clinics, group, or private lessons occasionally.
- Respond professionally to parent concerns.
- Follow all Club and SafeSport safety policies and procedures.
- Promote MAC’s mission, values, and quality service in all interactions.
- Stay current on basketball techniques and rules through professional development.
- Maintain reliable attendance and participate in all program meetings.
- Encouraged to organize team bonding activities.
- Represent MAC positively in all settings and communications.
- Occasional local and out-of-state travel required.
- Perform other tasks assigned by the Basketball Head Coach and Court Sports Manager.
Requirements
- At least 4 years of experience playing basketball (school, club, collegiate, intramurals, adult league, etc.).
- Experience coaching youth is preferred.
- Previous success in effective planning, supervisory, organizational, and communication skills.
- Demonstrated computer proficiency, including working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to effectively communicate with members, guests, and employees in written and verbal form.
- Ability and skill to establish and maintain good working relationships with employees and members.
- Ability and skill to work effectively in a service environment with member committees.
- Current CPR AED/First Aid and SafeSport certifications required or must be obtained within the first three months of employment.
