Basic Security Fundamental Support Instructor I (EVOC)

Responsibilities

• Provides instruction for the Emergency Vehicle Operators Course (EVOC) in accordance with CENSECFOR curriculum requirements.
• Delivers high-risk driver training, qualification events, inspections, vehicle control instruction, and emergency driving techniques on the EVOC range.
• Maintains student safety throughout all driving evolutions and enforces applicable Navy, DoD, and installation regulations.
• Conducts student pre-training preparation, observes performance, completes required evaluations, and provides remediation when necessary.
• Supports BSF training modules and assists with non-weapons curriculum after obtaining CUIT qualifications.
• Maintains EVOC Instructor certification, including instructing four basic courses per year and completing periodic recertification requirements.
• Coordinates with government personnel for access to training facilities, vehicles, and scheduled driving events.
• Ensures proper documentation of qualifications and certifications in the Instructor Training Jacket (ITJ).
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Possess a valid state driver's license.
• Have at least two (2) years emergency vehicle (EV) driving experience.
• Clean driving record:
  • No DWI/DUI convictions.
  • No major moving violations (e.g., reckless driving, suspended license) within the previous 3 years.
• Completed Physical Fitness Screening / Medical Evaluation for Motor Vehicle Operators (equivalent to previous OF-345 standards or in accordance with local installation safety office licensing requirements).
• High school diploma or GED required.

Skills

• Knowledge of emergency vehicle operations, inspection procedures, and safe driving practices in high-risk training environments.
• Ability to evaluate student driving performance accurately and deliver corrective guidance.
• Familiarity with Navy policies, installation driving regulations, and instructor-led training methods.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to teach both classroom and practical driving instruction.
• Ability to perform driving duties in varied weather, environmental, and operational conditions.
• Understanding of curriculum requirements, testing standards, and high-risk safety protocols.
