Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider - EMS Event Medicine

Responsibilities

• Coordinating care of high acuity patients to expedite treatment and/or transportation to the ED
• Communicating with other event medical staff and assigning patient care needs
• Communicating with the EMS and police personnel as necessary
• Observing, participating, and managing overall patient care to facilitate care and resolve issues or potential problems
• Providing work direction to BLS care providers
• Performing and documenting dependent functions such as carrying out EMS Medical Directors medical orders
• Performing diagnostic and treatment procedures
• Providing a safe environment
• Cooking, communicating, interpreting, and explaining patient care services to the patient, family, EMS personnel, and other health professionals

Requirements

• Education: High School diploma or GED
• Licensure/Registration/Certification: EMT certified in the State of MN through the EMSRB -or- Paramedic certified by the State of MN EMSRB -OR- licensed RN in the State of MN with critical care or ED experience

Qualifications

• PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Two years of clinical experience in an emergency medical setting
