Adjunct - AY27 Allied Health - Basic Life Support (BLS) Instructor
West Los Angeles College, part of the Los Angeles Community College District (LACCD), is seeking qualified candidates for Adjunct Allied Health - Basic Life Support (BLS) Instructor positions for the Academic Year 2027 (Fall Semester 2026 / Spring Semester 2027). Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in any field AND two (2) years of full-time related professional experience OR Associate degree in any field AND six (6) years of full-time related professional experience.
- Proficiency in all BLS skills, including CPR, AED use, and choking relief for adults, children, and infants.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider card from an accredited BLS Instructor Course (American Heart Association or Red Cross), with authorization to issue BLS Certification Cards.
- Sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience as a healthcare professional (e.g., RN, EMT, MD).
- Previous Canvas certification.

Pay
The salary for adjunct instructors begins at $86.85 per standard hour, plus an office hour differential of $20.32 per hour for classroom assignments. Applicants with a doctoral degree are eligible for a doctoral differential.
