BAS Operator/Controls Technician

Location: Springfield, VA. Must be a U.S. citizen and maintain a Top Secret security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose control system concerns and ensure occupancy comfort.
• Troubleshoot local controllers, communication wiring, programs, and schedules.
• Ensure proper set‑points, schedules, and sequences of operation are correctly programmed.
• Perform preventative maintenance tasks such as point‑to‑point check‑out, sensor calibration, and software backup.
• Maintain overall occupancy comfort while focusing on energy management.
• Interact with building occupants in person and over the phone.
• Identify opportunities to conserve building energy related to heating, ventilation, and air‑conditioning systems.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Formal or informal education/training sufficient to read and write at a level necessary for successful job performance.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in building controls and automation.
• Certification as a building automation system operator (e.g., Siemens APOGEE, BACnet, or equivalent).
• MD Stationary Engineer license level 1 or DC Stationary Engineer license level 3.
• Ability to lift up to 45 lb.
• Computer skills: Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc.) and related software.
• Proficiency with control‑technician hand tools and measuring/testing instruments.

Compensation

Pay: $50.42 (as listed).
