Bartender- Swizzle

About the role

The legendary Galt House Hotel is hiring an experienced bartender for the Swizzle restaurant—a retro-inspired supper club blending 1940s glamour with modern flair—to prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages as well as snack items, while ensuring guest satisfaction through excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and present beverage menus
• Check identification of customers to verify legal drinking age
• Take orders from serving staff or directly from customers
• Record drink orders accurately into the register system
• Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks in accordance with standard recipes
• Up-sell drinks and snack items
• Respond promptly to customer requests in a polite and professional manner
• Attempt to limit problems related to customers' excessive drinking by following established procedures
• Process transactions using the POS system
• Prepare checks for customers and process payments
• Ensure clean glasses, bar equipment, and working areas
• Comply with all health, safety, and hygiene standards and policies
• Balance the cash register at the start and close of each shift
• Monitor inventory

Requirements

• Previous bartending experience required
• Thorough knowledge of mixology, wines, liquor, and cocktails
• Gracious, friendly, patient, and helpful attitude toward guests
• Ability to multi-task and work in a very busy environment
• Flexible schedule with full availability on nights and weekends
• Working knowledge of food and beverage laws and regulations
