About the Role

Sets up bars for operation, obtains cash bank, and stocks service bar. Maintains adequate stock levels, organizes storeroom and work area for easy access, and ensures cleanliness and sanitation of the bar and work area. Prepares a limited variety of simple alcoholic beverages as requested by patrons and wait staff.

Responsibilities

  • Mix and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages using beer, soda, and other ingredients.
  • Record sales, prepare charge slips, and make change using basic arithmetic.
  • Identify intoxicated or unruly patrons and resolve issues or seek assistance.
  • Perform routine duties without close supervision.
  • Complete other assigned duties as needed.

Requirements

  • Direct Deposit and Social Security Card are required.
  • Must meet qualification, eligibility, and background requirements for the position.
  • A one-year probationary period may be required.
  • Must satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check and pre-employment checks, including a medical examination and Tier 1 background investigation for a Common Access Card.
  • Must be willing and able to work varying shifts, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must complete a physical and be able to lift and carry up to 20 pounds regularly and up to 40 pounds occasionally.
  • Must meet state/local age requirements (21) for mixing and serving alcoholic beverages.
  • Must complete a minimum of 4 hours of initial food sanitation and safety training within 30 days of employment and 4 hours of refresher training annually.

Qualifications

  • Must meet state/local age requirements (21) for serving alcoholic beverages.
  • Ability to lift and carry weights up to 20–40 pounds.
  • Possess math skills necessary to calculate patron bills and take inventory.
  • Skill in mixing and serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages and/or previous bartending experience.
  • Ability to recognize intoxicated and unruly patrons.

Resumes must clearly demonstrate relevant experience, skills, knowledge, and abilities. Highly preferred qualifications include six (6) months or more of bartending experience.

Working Conditions

  • Work is primarily indoors.
  • Stands for prolonged periods.
  • Exposed to cuts and bruises.
  • Regularly lifts and carries items weighing up to 20 pounds; occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 40 pounds.
