Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to guests according to Lodge recipes and standards.
- Maintain thorough knowledge of drink menus, seasonal specials, and local offerings.
- Ensure consistent pouring, presentation, and quality control.
- Monitor guest consumption and follow safe alcohol service guidelines.
- Provide welcoming, friendly, and attentive service at all times.
- Engage with guests in a professional, personable manner reflective of Jackson Hole hospitality.
- Make recommendations based on guest preferences.
- Resolve guest concerns promptly and professionally, escalating when necessary.
- Set up and break down bar areas, including stocking inventory, prepping garnishes, and ensuring organized workstations.
- Maintain cleanliness of bar top, equipment, glassware, and storage areas in compliance with health and safety standards.
- Manage cash and credit card transactions accurately; balance cash drawers when needed.
- Absorb inventory management, including counting stock and notifying management of supply needs.
- Collaborate with servers, barbacks, and kitchen staff to ensure seamless service.
- Support lodge events, private parties, and seasonal programming as needed.
- Uphold The Virginian Lodge’s brand standards and contribute to a positive workplace culture.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 1–2 years bartending or high-volume hospitality experience.
- Knowledge of spirits, beer, wine, and classic cocktails.
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 40 lbs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and composure.
- Current alcohol server certification (e.g., TIPS or state equivalent) or ability to obtain before start date.
- Must be 21+.
- Experience in a mountain, resort, or lodge setting.
- Familiarity with POS systems (Toast, Aloha, Micros, etc.).
- Knowledge of Wyoming state liquor regulations.
- Passion for hospitality, outdoor lifestyle, or Jackson Hole community vibe.
- Variated schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Work performed in indoor bar settings and occasionally in outdoor event spaces.
- Seasonal and year-round opportunities may be available depending on Lodge needs.
