Position Summary
The Bartender is responsible for providing a level of service that embodies Hometown Hospitality and delivers Fun for casino guests. They must maintain a high standard of cleanliness and provide consistent, high-quality food and beverage service.
General Accountabilities
- Be punctual and participate actively in pre-shift meetings.
- Provide Hometown Hospitality and deliver Fun, reflecting the core values of Fun, Friendly, and Community.
- Comply with department standards, guidelines, and objectives, including adherence to food service and sanitation codes, OSHA, and Hazcom standards.
- Wash hands frequently and adhere to sequence of service standards.
- Utilize upselling techniques and follow standardized recipes.
- Safeguard company assets and adhere to all policies and procedures.
- Maintain accountability for funds and prepare reconciliation reports.
- Practice alcohol awareness policies and procedures.
- Maintain a clear and organized work area, cleaning as you go and addressing spills promptly.
- Use chemicals responsibly and ensure proper labeling.
- Aware of fraud, counterfeit currency, and vouchers, and balance funds accurately.
- Perform other duties as assigned by department and company management.
Working Conditions
- Must have the ability to accurately calculate figures and perform mathematical functions.
- Must be able to interpret and follow instructions from various sources.
- Must be able to resolve problems and conflicts diplomatically and tactfully.
- Must be flexible to work all shifts, including holidays, nights, weekends, and overtime.
- Must be physically mobile, capable of lifting up to 25 lbs., and performing tasks in various work areas.
Job Qualifications
- Minimum age of 21 years.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Prior bartending experience preferred.
- Ability to read, analyze, interpret, and comprehend technical procedures, government regulations, and business materials.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Maintain confidentiality.
Compliance Responsibilities
- Attend required training sessions.
- Obtain required licenses.
- Perform duties in compliance with local laws and regulations.
- Ensure minors are not allowed to gamble, drink, or purchase tobacco.
- Have knowledge of relevant ordinances, regulations, laws, policies, and procedures.
- Know the Property's programs to address problem gambling.
- Consult with appropriate individuals and maintain written policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Investigate exceptions, fraud, and potential violations and report them.
- Report any acts of wrongdoing on behalf of any staff member.
