$12.14 per hour + gratuities

About the Role
The Bartender prepares and serves beverages and food to guests at the bar, restaurant, or patio while upholding company standards. This role reports to the Food & Beverage Manager.
Responsibilities
- Create a welcoming atmosphere and provide excellent hospitality by answering guest questions about the resort and dining area
- Maintain superior food service and quality standards to meet or exceed guest expectations
- Greet and serve guests energetically, listen to beverage preferences, and make recommendations
- Verify customer identification to ensure legal drinking age
- Report potential safety issues or customer concerns to a supervisor
- Collaborate with staff at all levels to develop a shared vision and plan for Food & Beverage functions
- Handle incoming food and beverage phone calls
- Mix drinks, serve wine and beer, take orders from guests or waitstaff, prepare to-go orders, and replenish bar snacks
- Process cash and card transactions, ensure accurate charges, and provide correct change; balance the cash register
- Take inventory, order liquors and supplies, and manage quality within budget
- Maintain a clean work area, including washing glasses, equipment, and the bar area per safety procedures
- Oversee and assist with Food & Beverage functions (e.g., corporate parties, weddings)
- Prepare beverages, supplies, and bar setups for banquets and events
- Attend culinary exhibitions and educational seminars to stay current with industry developments
- Perform other assigned duties as needed
Requirements
- High school diploma preferred
- One year of bartending experience, preferably in a resort facility
- Must meet state and federal minimum age requirements for serving alcohol
- Current Food Handlers Card and TIPS® Certification (Training for Intervention Procedures)
- Ability to perform basic arithmetic (add, subtract, multiply, divide, calculate discounts and percentages)
- Positive attitude and ability to contribute to a productive, friendly work environment
- Strong communication skills to present information effectively to guests and team members
- Ability to provide professional and friendly direction to coworkers
- Comfortable reading and comprehending instructions, correspondence, and memos
- Attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment with continuous improvement expectations
- Flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends
Work Environment
This role operates primarily in an indoor restaurant setting but may also work on a patio or at outdoor events, with exposure to weather conditions and occasional native wildlife. Noise levels vary and can be loud.
