Bartender - Evening Shift Holiday Inn

Job Responsibilities

• Create a welcoming and hospitable environment for all guests at the bar.
• Demonstrate sound knowledge of specialty and classic cocktails (ingredients, specs, build), wine, beer, and beverage offerings.
• Maintain fluency in all menu items and ingredients with the ability to suggest beverage pairings.
• Follow proper steps of service with grace, while maintaining a sense of urgency throughout service.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area, including the seating area.
• Communicate effectively with staff members, management, and the kitchen during service.
• Welcome customers, read and listen to people to determine beverage preferences, make recommendations, and take drink orders.
• Plan drink menus and inform customers about new beverages and specials.
• Select and mix ingredients, garnish glasses, and serve beverages to customers.
• Check identification to ensure customers are the legal age to purchase alcohol.
• Take inventory and order supplies to ensure bar and tables are well-stocked.
• Adhere to all food safety and quality regulations.
• Handle cash, credit, and debit card transactions, ensuring charges are accurate and returning correct change to patrons, balancing the cash register.
• Maintain a clean work and dining area by removing trash, cleaning tables, and washing glasses, utensils, and equipment.
• Develop new cocktail recipes.

Job Qualifications

• 1-2+ years of bartender experience.
• Ability to stand or walk for long periods of time.
• Ability to balance & carry multiple plates, glass racks and/or glasses, and lift objects up to 30 lbs.
• A high school diploma.
• Additional education, training, certificates, or experience may be required.
• Mets state minimum age to serve alcohol.
• Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
• A positive, engaging personality and professional appearance.
• Basic math and computer skills.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
• Strong task and time management abilities.
• An eye for detail and understanding of drink mixing tools and techniques.
• The ability to stand, walk, bend, etc. for extended periods, and lift up to 30 lbs.

Full Time

Salary will be based on experience. Salary plus Tips and gratuity.
